Rider’s Profile: Kite Rana (& some Vespa toys!)

After seeing Lisa Simpson figuring in my blog last month, my daughter asked in her comment here if she could be in my blog too. Of course, I said `yes’! What father wouldn’t?

Anyway, she is a Vespa fan too like my wife. A few days ago, I asked her if she would like me to give her a “Vespa” for a present? Since she already has this one, and a bit too old for this other one, I was thinking about giving her this one (if only I could afford it)

But, my idea was waaay off! She wasn’t thinking of a toy and said she’ll wait ’til she’s twelve and noted that she likes her Vespa pink. It would be cool if my daugther eventually becomes a Vespa rider too, but at twelve?!! NO WAY! She will have to buy her real Vespa with her own real money when she’s at least eighteen! *fingers crossed that she won’t charm her way into letting me buy this in the future*

more about the rider: Along with my wife, Kite was with me whe I got PYKE last April and got immidiately on board during my first test ride. After paying for it, the first accessory to be attached was a grab rail for the front passenger.

Our farthest ride is Antipolo and our most memorable so far has to be the very short ride from our house to Rockwell where we both got drenched with a sudden downpour! I didn’t stop to wear my rain gear since I felt sooo guilty imagining myself dry but allowing an innocent, young child to get soaked. (I also imagined the accusing stares I’ll get from strangers that says: What an irresponsible, insensitive and inconsiderate father, that big, fat guy is!) I had to check on her if she was okay and it turned out she was not… just okay, SHE WAS HAVING FUN! It just wasn’t fun for me when we had to go in the Power Plant Mall and buy new clothes and underwear just to change! Imagine the money I could’ve saved if only I wasn’t too paranoid wearing my harmless rain gear!

Last August during her 7th birthday, Kite was excited with the fact that she will be riding PYKE especially for her ‘Down-the-Aisle’ party where she played the Chief Flower Girl (more about that party here). Watch this onsite AVP where my Vespa & I had a cameo with the birthday girl.
