Rider’s Profile: Ron Stoppable

November 29, 2006

Last night, my wife & daughter were watching a re-run of the movie, Kim Possible: So the Drama when I heard the distinct sound of a 2-stroke engine. I rolled off my computer seat to catch a glimpse, and saw this:

Why… it’s the dorky Ron Stoppable on Vespa! I immediately searched the ‘net for images of Ron on his scoot but there wasn’t any, ziltch, nada! So during the commercial break, I asked my daugther to lend me her Kim Possible DVD. As soon as she found it, I popped it in my computer, scanned, and captured a few frames for some Vespa screencaps. A’righty then, here’s a chance for another Vespa rider’s profile!

rider’s name: Ron Stoppable
also known as: Ronald Stoppable
ride: a newly acquired, but dilapidated blue Vespa with front basket
homebase: Middleton, USA
job: high school student – Middleton High; best friend & dorky sidekick of Kim Possible

more about the rider: In one of the deleted clips featured on the DVD, it was revealed the Ron just got his scooter and his driver’s license. He mighty proud of his ‘new’ scoot. But when a myriad of Diablo toys came marching after him on his ‘vintage’ scooter, he was heard saying: “This thing is junk! Am I the only one to notice this?”

When things got worse and those tiny Diablo toys turned to into giant cybertronic robots armed with state-of-the-art weapons, the Possibles (Kim’s family) took Ron’s scoot in their garage to propel it with a pair of rockets and attached them on each cowl. When Ron asked if those rockets could go any faster, Rufus — his naked molerat pet (who, by the way, is voiced by Nancy Cartwright — the same woman who lends voice to Bart Simpson) — let its tail touch the rocket blast and the scooter sonic-boomed its way to the command signal to stop the robots.

Booyah!
