Vespa(?) Spotting: “1 Moment, 1 Nescafé” ad
In one recent comment from a previous posting, I’ve been asked if the scooter seen in the recent Nescafé ad is a Vespa. Having only seen the fender and the rear, I’m inclined to think it’s a Lambretta, but feel free to correct me if I’m mistaken.
Check out the ad here and see if you can tell what scoot it is.
The advertisment looks nice. I’m not so sure if it was shot in Manila or if it’s a canned commercial produced elsewhere. The tisoy/tisay looks of the talents doesn’t help either. One thing is sure though, the soothing voice behind this “One Moment, One Nescafé” jingle is of a Filipina. Do you know who she is?

Pretty girl, ‘ey? Her name is Monique Rae, a 19 year old crooner from Cebu. If you’re as old as me, you would recall that Nescafé used the same formula (casting a pretty but relatively unknown signer to sing its jingle) when it got the young Zsa Zsa Padilla to sing its “One World of Nescafé” jingle in the ’80s. Remember how it goes?
Spending time apart
In a world that sits in separate tables
Searching for a heart
That I gave away
And how are things with you?
Do you see the welcome in your smile?
Let’s sit and talk a while
In the one world of Nescafé
With her voice and good looks, Monique Rae may just be another Nescafé discovery. If you like what you heard and saw, get to know more about the girl via her website, moniquerae.com. A clearer version of the above commercial can be seen in her site’s ‘Portfolio’ section.
Happy New Year!

Makes me want some coffee!
The shot of the rear of a gray scooter looks like a Vespa; the side view is of a different bike, and while it may be a Lambretta, it might be some kind of plastic knockoff as well…
Thanks you guys! I’ve visited your respective scooter blogs and they’re both GREAT!
Great work! I also have my own blog I just find it hard to write quality content like this.
I guess I really don’t have the time.
