5 things you probably didn’t know about me

I have been ‘tagged’ by Bimbo and now I’m ‘It!’

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I rarely see this thing called ‘blog tagging’ (just checked Google an it’s also known as ‘meme’ — check out the 4th definition) in foreign blogs I visit. It’s not that I mind, this one’s actually good to make my readers (all two of them… hello wife & daughter!) to get to know me better. I just feel sorry for the five people I’ll tag after my turn. hahaha! I hope they won’t be too uptight to let chain stop.

Come to think of it, this is like a chain letter which ‘blackmails’ the next unsuspecting blogger into answering and forwarding the same fate to a few other victims (curse you, Bimbo! ).

I guess I’m officially part of the local blogging community now that I’ve been ‘tagged.’ Here goes…

1. I am not a Wedding Planner. Whenever I join an online community and they learn that I run WeddingsAtWork.com, people (outside the wedding industry) think that I’m a wedding planner; the local scootering community is no exception. I usually get the line: “Tawagan kita pag ikakasal ako ha.” Before with the PinoyDVD guys, I still tried to explain what I exactly do. Now with Vespinoy, I just smile and reply “oo ba!”

So what do I really do? I’m a site admin of a wedding website which is also an online community for soon-to-weds and wedding suppliers alike. My wife & I update the site and I’m the ‘voice’ behind the W@W News Blog. We also publish the ‘W@W Wedding Primer‘ and the ‘Bride’s Yellow Pages‘ every year. But WE DO NOT COORDINATE WEDDINGS!

There, I finally said it! hehehe

2. I am a songwriter. No, you probably haven’t heard anything I’ve written because I didn’t say “I’m a famous songwriter.” The songwriting is partly what got my wife & I into the local wedding industry. Read the story here.

3. I’m not as old as I look. Yeah, my hairline betrays me. But what peeved me the most is when our feng shui guy had the nerve to ask who’s older between me and my brother, Fol. He’s not just six years older, he’s got a more prominent hairline! hahaha!

I’m 34. I may not look like it, but just give me the benefit of the doubt! hahaha!

4. I’m not into cars. Unlike my father and my two OLDER brothers, I have been a motorcycle guy since college. Randy could name the type/brand of any car since we were little. Yeah, he’s a rider now but take note of his handle in MotorcyclePhilippines forum: mitlancer_gsr. On the other hand, Fol, has got the best cars his money could buy. Now his son, Gio is as good as Randy was in naming cars when he was his age.

My dad hated that I never seemed to care about my cars he gave me. He said, I just hop in and drive but never cared about the car’s condition. Of couse I did! I cared if it has gas and head to his suking gas station to ‘sign check.’ Now, I see his point. I’d hate myself too if a have a son like me! hahaha! Guess, I’m really a two-wheel kind of guy.

5. I don’t drink alcohol. This time, my tummy betrays me. I do smoke but I’m allergic to alcohol. Found this out the hard way. Grade 6 Farewell party of 1985. The section 3 guys were soo cool, they had punch with gin for drinks. We were stuck with some Zesto probably. Wanting to be cool as well, I snuck in the H.E. (Home Economics) room and drank all the punch I wanted. Come graduation time, my whole body was full of itchy, red dots. Imagine long sleeves, black pants and Sampaguita garlads around my neck; it was the most uncomfortable feeling! Now, I have a hard time breathing if I try.

So when I hang out with the Vespinoy guys on Scooter Nights, believe me when I say I’m in for the bonding. I’d rather smoke and be thirsty.

Now, for the people I’ll be tagging. I’ll go with the blogging guys in the wedding industry. These guys are among the best photographers and videographers in the country! If they ignore this, then they will just be branded too old and too boring to care about these things. Hope they prove us otherwise.
