Rider’s Profile – Iskuterista Series: DJ Crystal

It’s Friday and we’ve reach the end of this blog’s Iskuterista Series. I want to thank all these five guys for making this blogging week a fun and memorable experience for me. But this doesn’t mean it will be the last time I’ll be featuring local Vespa riders here. The local scene is full of more interesting personalities and I’ve barely scratched the surface.

Fittingly, I saved the fairest scooterist for last. I’ve been hearing her voice thru the airwaves since she’s been a DJ on FM for quite some time now. Reading her bio in her station’s website, I’ve learned that she’s also been an FHM Babe (she even has a stalker story about this guy who asked for her to autograph his FHM copy and eventually caused a commotion in the station. Link to that story below). I do remember seeing an that issue where her fellow DJs (Tina Ryan and Miles) posed for the mag, but I hate that I seemed to have missed her in there. For the lucky ones, go rummage through your collection and check out the October 2006 ish — Pam Anderson on cover! If I find that issue, I’ll post a scan here! hehehe For now, let’s content ourselves to a more wholesome (it’s a mere headshot from her station’s website for crying out loud!) of this pretty and friendly lady DJ.

Hmmm… Where to begin?… Oh, I know! Yes, I ride a Vespa. But I wish I were more of an enthusiast as the others I know. I’m still trying to figure out most of what’s written on the manual, that’s for sure!

For two years now, I’ve been looking for protective gear for myself that actually fit. Does anyone know where I can try some on and get some? The b&w image above is a scan from a three-page feature about her and Ding Ding (that’s the name of her Vespa) in the 2nd issue of Scooterista. Crystal is the chosen poster girl for the Scooterista lifestyle. When Crystal emailed me her answers, she said she’ll try to email again for a picture of her on scoot. But she must have forgotten and I didn’t wanna bug her anymore. Instead, I asked around asking if anyone has a picture of her on a Vespa.

The search for the picture was practically a team effort. Thanks to Bimbo for telling me that Crystal appeared in the first issue of Scooterista. Thanks to Manu too for confirming that she appeared in several issues and for trying to locate her pic in his computer files; by the way, he’s the one who took that photo of Crystal. And lastly, thanks to Nani and Rob of 2211Works for handing me an actual copy of the 2nd issue for me to scan (and read!).

Just goes to show that the local scootering community is alive and always willing to give a helping hand. As for DJ Crystal…
