Just got to be back!

It’s been a little over a month since I’ve laid hand on this blog. The month of February has been crazy mainly because of beating deadlines for The W@W Wedding Primer which is one of our site‘s annual publication that comes out every March. But I just had to get out of this blogging hibernation to share this very exciting news!

Just the other day while reading Bimbo’s latest post, I’ve learned that he has been nominated in the Philippine Blog Awards complete with that image logo above. Actually, I wasn’t surprise that Bimbo got in. He’s one passionate blogger promoting the local Vespa scene and the scootering lifestyle. Then he thanked the one who nominated him. I have read a couple of other nominated blogs before where the blogger thanked whomever nominated them. In my mind, I go: ‘yeah right!’ thinking it’s highly unlikely that some random guy will take the time to nominate another person’s site. But Bimbo did the exact same thing! hmmm…

Towards the end of his latest entry, Bimbo said: “Congratulations to John’s blog for being nominated as well.”

For a second there, I wondered if I am the ‘John’ he’s referring to. Of course part of me dismissed the thought immediately since I thought who would nominate my blog at the time when there’s nothing new to read in it. Just to satisfy my curiosity, I clicked on the link on the name half hoping it leads to my blog, and the other half knocking myself to reality. And guess where that link lead me?

Putcha! ‘Di talaga ako makapaniwala! Bigla akong nahiya sa taong nag-nominate sa akin! Nahiya ako kasi he/she nominated me despite how this blog has been ‘neglected.’ Nahiya rin ako sa mga nominees whom I doubted when they claimed someone else would actually nominate them. Guess it shows how clueless I still am how blogging really works and how the blogger affects his/her readers. With that came the realization how jaded a person I became.

This coming back post is mainly for the person who nominated this blog. Maraming salamat sa ‘yo! Felt like my house was nominated by a guest as one of the nicest in a town fiesta despite knowing that I haven’t been exactly a gracious host. Nakaka-dyahe diba? But of course, I still won’t deny the fact that it is also very flattering.

About the awards, I’m actually nominated in the Sports & Recreation category with blogging sports buffs, gamers and collectors. Bimbo and I are the only riders so far (I don’t know if the are more to be added in the list). What makes it cooler is that the Motorcycle Philippines — a blog which I regularly contribute to — is also nominated in the same category!
