A Vespa in an Art Gallery?!!

March 14, 2007
by Abet Rana

Last February 22, I got invited to the grand opening of Gallery 7 Studio — a new art gallery situated in Oasis Manila along Aurora Blvd. in San Juan. The owners (Enrico & Bing Gaw) are actually my colleagues in the wedding industry. When Rico text me, he requested that I bring my Vespa to the event. Of course I obliged. A rider will always grab any chance to ride no matter what the occasion. ;)

When I got to the place that night, I saw two familiar Vespa PXs. One was parked outside (beside which I parked mine) and the other one was conspicuously ‘parked’ inside the gallery. Sounds weird? Well, here’s proof:

The gallery owner is actually a brother of a fellow Vespa rider — Charlie Gaw aka Vestsinoy. That’s actually his scoot, Baccarat. Since Charlie is an Interior Designer by profession, he was a natural choice to design and decorate the interiors of his brother’s gallery, and boy, what a job he did! Check out the place!

Charlie told me he utilized a diagonal wall for a dynamic design and more wall space which is essential to any art gallery. Aside from the framed graphic art pieces, I was also impressed with the fixtures and accents in the studio. By the way, all photos in here are sent to me by Rico. Here’s a group shot with the gallery owners and the Vespeeps.

About the gallery:

Gallery 7 Digital Studio became first known for offering high-quality photo mosaic service. Later on, the Photo Collage and Photo-2-Canvas was introduced. The Photo Collage is for people who do not have lots and lots of photos but want to highlight some favorite photos or a special occasion. All photos are color corrected, digitally enhanced and arranged in a special template. The photos are printed directly on archival quality art canvas. All canvas material are water resistant, lightweight and mounted onto a wooden frame so they are ready-to hang on the wall. This is ideal for wedding day photos, baby photos, travel photos, etc. There’s also its Photo-2-Canvas product where digital effects, like sepia and black and white are applied.

During the showroom launch, the couple showed their latest product, the Andy Warhol-style pop-art work printed on art canvas or semi-matte paper. Aside from showcasing Gallery 7 Digital Studio products, they are now offering archival printing for fine art, photography and giclée (pronounced as: zhee-clay) in different special media such as canvas, and fine art paper.

You can visit their blog to know more about the company. :)

Hi Eds! If you’re looking for a Vespa with a manual transmission, you could never go wrong with a PX. If automatic naman, ET4 siguro.
