Vespeeps join a music video shoot!
Manila’s Mod band — Juan Pablo Dream (JPD) — invited the guys of Vespinoy to the shooting of their fourth music video for the song “To The…” from their debut album, Soul Up! Listen to the short sampler of that track courtesy of Fliptunes.
The shooting was held last Sunday (March 11) along Macapagal Ave. There were about 20+ scoots which joined the shoot. The video was directed by Jon “Sponky” Villarin who is a Vespa enthusiast himself. In fact, his was the most retro-looking Vespa that I’ve seen complete with plaid solo seats and a blow horn! Here’s a pic of direk at work that day.

Here are more images taken from the video shoot.

Here we are listening to direk’s final instructions before we hit the open roads.

And there’s our convoy causing some traffic. The familiar guy in the vintage green Vespa in front is actor, Dominic Ochoa. But with the Vespa boys, he’s simply one of the guys — makulit din! hehehe. Dom did a cameo in the party scene which was a hoot! Hope that one doesn’t get edited out.

That day, three scenes were shot. One with the band against a green wall for post-prod effects. The second is the scooter and Volkswagen convoy and the last to be shot was the party scene. Above is Marko’s two-tone scoot serving a foreground to the party.

JPD frontman — Bing Austria — and the band during the final shoot of the day.

Of course, no music video is ever complete without the gorgeous girls. Here are just some of them in their retro outfits.
Credits to Tinio and Yey for sharing these photographs. Tinio took the highway shots backriding with his back turned against Yey. By the way, the last pic I nicked from one of the talent’s Multiply account.

Tanong lang po…
Base sa picture na nasa unahan si Dominic Ochoa.. I know for cinematic effect wala silang suot na safety helmets… sa entire shoots ba na sakay sila ng motor ay hinde sila nagsuot ng safety helmets? Thanks
hi john! just want to inform you that i enjoyed reading all your articles and write ups. also, i love the photos. may i know what camera are you using. i plan to change my digicam. thanks. keep up the good work.
Hi Edd! Yes wala kaming helmet during the entire riding scene but we don’t really promote that. As you said, it’s for ‘cinematic effect’ lang. Our speed was relatively slow and we were surrounded by the Beetles kaya safe everything was naman. A great part of the shoot was done along roads in the reclaimed area with hardly any traffic. No untoward incident happened.
All Chua, thanks for reading my posts. FYI, most of the images that you see in here are pictures taken by others. I think I suck in photography. I normally just ask for their permission and try to credit and/or give the link to their sites. You can ask them directly for the specs of their cams.
