Art Vespa: My Simpsonized family (…and the voices behind the show)

August 4, 2007
by Abet Rana

As I mentioned before, simpsonizeme.com is a site that coverts your own photo to look like a 2D Simpsons character. A couple of my riding buddies tried it out and posted their simpsonized caricatures in the Vespinoy forum.

Here are the ones I’ve done for my family. Of course, I had to sit me down on a Vespa to make the image go with my blog’s main topic. ;)

Try it with your own picture and see how things turn up. :D The sad white bunny by my daughter’s foot is her pet Robby whom she got as a gift out of the magician’s hat during her 7th birthday party exactly a year ago. It is with a heavy heart that we are giving the pet up for adoption to find her a more suitable home. The above art is lovingly dedicated to her. :)

Anyway, to go back on the Simpsons topic: I have always thought it’s common knowledge that the voice of Bart Simpson is done by a grown woman. Then I’d realize that only die hard fans of the show would care to know of such detail. I was even more amazed when my wife & daughter got very interested watching a clip I was viewing in YouTube where the main voice talents behind The Simpsons guested in Inside the Actor’s Studio and were interviewed as the characters they portray. Watch the entertaining clip here.

Isn’t it amusing to hear those familiar voices spoken by the real actors who deliver them?

By the way, do catch the movie if you still haven’t done so. It’s already No. 20 in the Biggest Opening Weekend at the Box Office ahead of LOTR (Return of the King), 300, Star Wars Episode I, or any Pixar animation. :)

Hi Berns! The clip above was heavily edited leaving out the part about Marge since it hardly showed Julie Cavner (the voice behind the character) talking. Here’s the clip anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJY-q9HHOMs

Here’s a more interesting clip where the voice of Homer & Mr. Burns did an improv skit at Conan O’ Brian’s show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kX0dNd6pxQ

Hi ate Pao! Yeah that was cool. I think that live action Simpsons opening was used for the show’s UK broadcast a couple of years ago. :)
