“Ghost” Riders: A Halloween City Ride around Manila!

November 11, 2007
by Abet Rana

I was excited to join this ride until I realized that my wife & I will be in Palawan to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary and to spend the Halloween there with our daughter. Though I would never trade our family trip to El Nido with a ride (naks!), it still would’ve been great if I was able to join my VCOP buddies for this spooky-fun ride around the city.

The group met up in Walter Mart in Pasong Tamo took a route which had taken them to San Andres, and all the Binondo (Chinatown) for dinner and some bat and ball soup. Afterwhich, they headed towards to Malate, then Greenbelt to Glorietta, until finally winding down to party at Gweilos at C. Palanca.

Here are a couple more pictures from the ride…

The riders wore their costumes/masks the whole time during the ride. Quadrophenic — who took all the pictures I’m sharing here — reported that it has been a wacky and fun-filled ride.

Yes, even the scoots the scoots were geared up to go trick-or-treatin’! Nic said that jeepney passengers freaked out when they realized they were beside ‘ghouls’ and ‘zombies’. In the Malate area, tourists requested the riders to pose for some pictures.
